 Oaklawn
Day
at the Races
March 29, 2008
One
of the favorite events for the Little Rock Ski Club is
our annual trip to Oaklawn. This year we had our
largest turnout of 49 members and guests, all enjoying
the day as we visited with our Ski Club friends, sampled
ALL of the food and studied the horses we were going to
bet on. Some were very scientific and others simply
decided to bet on the horse with the best name. We
had winners and we had losers, but we were all winners
in spending such a fun day together.
The
Little Rock Ski Club sponsored the second race and was
mentioned over the loud speaker at the beginning of the
race and was listed in the program as the sponsor. It
was a great race and we were honored to be able to have
six of our members go down to the track and award the
winning trophy to the owner of the horse. It was my
pleasure to work with such an organized person as Debra
Norton as co-leaders of this event. Thanks to all of
the members that participated to make this day such a
great one.
