Trip Co-Captain, Joe Sarlo's trip report:

Eighteen intrepid Little Rock Ski Clubbers just returned from an exciting adventure in Lake Tahoe.  There would have been 20, but unfortunately because of an emergency Bill and Robbie Riley had to cancel at the last minute.  I'm glad to report, however, that all is well with them now.  It all started the week before when over 10 feet of snow fell on the South Lake Tahoe, so we had plenty of white stuff to ski on when we arrived.

On Sunday most of us went to Heavenly (where else on a Sunday?).  Although Nancy and John Anthony didn't ski that first day, they did join us at the top of the gondola for lunch.  Victor Menefee and Jo Light also were not there.  It was reported that they were up until 4 o'clock in the morning the night before, dancing.  Not bad for the oldest guy on the trip!

Rumor also has it that during the week Jimmy Jones, Ann Phelan, Shayron Gathright, Cheryl Payne, and Ray Barber took a day off from skiing to enjoy a sightseeing cruise to beautiful Emerald Bay.  The photos were spectacular.

Seen making BIG bucks at the gaming tables were John and Kathy Richardson, Ray, Jimmy, and Jimmy's many women (he's my hero).  Also while in the casino, Victor did introduce his wife Jo, Dave Bentley, and myself to his new friend, a rather buxom young cocktail waitress.  Victor is another hero of mine.

On Tuesday some of us took the bus to the Kirkwood Ski Resort.  Pattie Lucarz brought along her new found buddy from New York, Frank.  Although we would like to start a rumor otherwise, she insists that Frank was only a ski partner.

Way too early on Wednesday morning, half the group had to leave and return to their real jobs.  It was a disappointment for us staying the whole week, but we managed to survive anyhow.

Wednesday night Roger Miller and Mike Paulus were excited about the prospect of going to "Naughty School Girl Night" at the Cabo Wabo Cantina Lounge.  I would like to report that it was every bit as "naughty" as it sounds, but unfortunately being the old fart that I am, I was in bed asleep by 10 o'clock.

By Friday we were all pretty worn out, but some of us (Dave Bentley, Paul Cochran, Howie Greene, and myself) did manage to take a scenic ride around the lake to Squaw Valley.  Howie was particularly excited about Squaw, since being a "super senior" he got to ski free.  I guess there is some advantage about aging, other than the 10% discounts at Luby's Restaurant on Mondays.

All in all, it seemed that everyone had a great time.
